One of my friend named Black Bean brought me to this Pyongyang Restaurant during my internship recently. They serve traditional Korean foods which I think was originated from North Korea. It cost about RM60 for both of us but worth it!

The food here is very unique. I mean really unique! It will make you wondering what you are actually inserting into your mouth, chewed and swallowed into your stomach. You won't even know what you are eating!!

What you can do is relax, enjoy the surprises of the foods served and have a taste that you will remember as your first...

The cover of the menu. KORYO!!! (ok..What is koryo??) Koryo generally mean an era between 935 till 1392 where Korean starts to develop its cultural during this period. Actually there are a few version of what Koryo mean. Koryo or Koryo ?
The view when you entered the restaurant. One word popped up in my mind. What is the floating giant hose hanging above the table which looked like an elephant trunk?
Its actually a hose that sucks out the smokes that were produced during the frying and BBQ-ing of the Korean foods. (Really looked like an elephant trunk....)
Ok...another weird tools on the table. They have this utensils (don't know what it called) on each table which act as a kitchen for every customer - to cook
The waitresses placed the plate, cup and a wet napkin (inside the gold packet on the right) in front of you. Oh ya, forgot to mention, the waitresses and chefs here are pure Korean. They serve every customers politely and with elegant smile. I've heard that sometimes they will put on Korean traditional dress when serving the customers.  ^^
Kangryong Green Tea which rumored as a very healthy tea that cures certain sickness and rejuvenate the body. (a full list of its capability was actually written behind of this ad card)
The menu....you will see all sort of dishes. Written there "mushroom" but the picture looks like "keropok" (tidbits). Written there "prawn salad" but it looked like "fried scramble eggs". One advice, just try it! (but beware of the price). When you are ordering it, just point it to the waitress. Unless you know Korean language. :)
Complementary dishes. On the left side-top is some sort of vegetable, second from the top is kimchi and below it is some sort of fermented vegetable which will warm up your taste buds. On the right side-top is potato. Right side second from the top is onion and below of it is cabbage/salad.
Burning charcoal will be placed inside here.
The BBQ grills placed on top of it and ready for cooking
A complicated and delicate process and the meat is expensive, so instead of letting the customers burning the foods the waitress will cook for you - live!
There...this is how a professional barbeque. The meat is well marinated and cut into thin slices. The smoke is sucked out using that elephant trunk. Even I am right in front of this grilling process, I am completely save from smoke, heat and splashes of hot oil. Maybe a little.
 Before...
After...
Taste like a kind of dough. Chewy but tasty and its filling.
Rice wrapped around by seaweeds which looks like sushi but with unique taste. "Healthy and Delicious" is the motto of this restaurant which I think its true. All the foods in the menu is very healthy. Less oil, less fats, more protein, more vitamins, more calcium, more vegetables.....(ok...too exaggerated)
Alright....lets view some live video of the cooking process...

Don't question about the quality of the video. Don't ask me why I rotated the camera.
Other specialties at Pyongyang Restaurant:
Tzajang Noodle, Fried Dumpling, Fried Bean Curd, Fried Glass Noodle with Mixed Vegetable, Pancake, Frozen Potato Cake, Marinated Stew Ox Stomach, Fish Kimchi
